Job Title :– Project Administrator
Job Description :-
Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is a publicly funded research institute, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is home to a diverse community of leading scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers from across the globe, transforming problems and roadblocks into pioneering research and technology prototypes that help move society ahead.
Postdoctoral positions (experimental) are available in the quantum communications lab at the Technology Innovation Institute. Research will be focused on the design and implementation of deplorable quantum communications systems, with emphasis on field tests of entangled photon technologies. As key members of a new team, successful candidates will have the opportunity to assist in building up the laboratory, and will enjoy a degree of freedom in shaping their research area according to their seniority and background. In addition to lab-based experimental work, candidates will be expected to assist in promoting our research and mentoring junior researchers. Those interested should be hard-working and motivated, with a demonstrated track record in quantum optics experiments, in particular:
- Generation and manipulation of single photons and photon pairs
- Discrete variable encoding, entanglement-based and/or MDI schemes
- Practical demonstrations of QKD and other protocols
- Experience and interest in hardware development (sources, receivers, electronics etc.)
Skills required for the job:-
- Experimental optics (“bulk” optical and fiber systems)
- Solid understanding of quantum optics and QKD principles
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team
Qualifications:-
- PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar field related to quantum optics
- Experience in an experimental quantum optics/phonics lab
- Able to provide two references who can comment on your track record and work ethic
Quantum Research Centre:-
Major advancements in quantum theory and practice have created new opportunities in areas as diverse as information security, finance and process optimisation. The Quantum Research Centre is building the MENA region’s first quantum computer, taking a full-stack approach. It also is developing new-generation technologies in areas such as quantum computation, quantum communication, and quantum sensors.
