Control Manager ME Job Profile Summary The primary purpose of this role is to support the Head of Finance MEKSA in monthly closing, reporting, and liaising with the GBS to maintain silent running. The incumbent will also be the single point of contact for Melubco (manufacturing JV) for compliance with their SLA. This role will also support in delivering silent running objectives of the control agenda such as compliance with MCE, implementing new control & credit initiatives, NPR compliance, control reviews, annual audits, and SPA for control matters and coordinator between MEKSA and central control teams. To be a senior member of the Middle East Finance team and support on Internal Control activities for the bp Middle East lubricants businesses including support to other entities in the region as control expert.
Job Advert Key Job Accountabilities
• Internal controls and MCE monitoring activities such as DOA, application of Group Reporting Manual, Segregation of Duties, Balance Sheet reconciliations (BSI), NPR, DD, GAIT reviews
• Liaise with the audit team for timely audit completion of BPME lubricants business and support the system/process change from finance side with every change in business dynamics
• Review and manage the approval process for monthly provision and accruals lubricant businesses
• Liaising between the credit team which continues to be based in GBS and ME business on day to day operational issues/opportunities
• Supporting as finance expert on long term contracts and commitments
• Liaising with the GBS, internal stakeholder & Tax team on all closing, Tax & control issues
• Supporting control agenda in ME transformation projects and undertaking risk assessment review across MEKSA
• Support as single point of contact for internal audits and banking relationship.
• Support in Interco Agreement (UFA), invoicing and settlement for Lubes.
• Focal point for Trade loan review and appraisals along with monitoring performance and spend for lubes To be the single point of contact person between bp Middle East and the Melubco Joint Venture:
• Monitor the implementation of the provisions and accountabilities as articulated in the Service Level Agreement between bp ME and Melubco and the In-Line Control document agreed with the Board of Directors
• Manage processes/interfaces and ensure their effective working such as obtaining relevant analyses/reports from Asia BSC on a timely basis each month (e.g. BSI reports, Capex MI reports, Stock and inventory reports including Costing, Opex computation and apportioning, invoicing to off-takers and cash-call calculations and others)
• Liaise with external auditors for Melubco audits and preparation of audited financial statements. Also act as SPOC to auditors from the partners of Melubco to ensure their requirements are attended to during audits carried out by any of the partners
• Represent finance on the monthly Melubco operation committee and follow up on actions coming out of that meeting
• Implementation of robust processes to address the gaps identified from reviews
• Support the partners reviews and audits from finance end for the JV and support implementation of the agreed actions by the board Experience & Expertise (mandatory & desired)
• Current UAE resident will be preferred
• Recognized national or international professional financial management / accountancy qualification with 8 to 10 years post qualifications experience preferably ACA/ACCA/CPA/ACMA or MBA in finance Experience /Skills
• Working knowledge of JDE 9.1 preferred
• Highly Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to balance detailed analysis and seeing the bigger picture
• Strong control experience in a business with automated systems and processes.
• Good understanding of how financial control and reporting processes and systems operate.
• Good business awareness, key performance drivers and sound financial knowledge
• Ability to manage multiple/conflicting priorities and ability to operate under pressure
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work through diverse remotely located
• Ability to challenge and influence through persuasion.
