Job Description
Exciting Research associate position in “Pre-harvest treatment by Natural elicitors to the UAE date fruit and its effect on quality of date fruit” in the Integrative Agriculture Department of College of Food and Agriculture, UAEU. As an enthusiastic researcher you will join a collaborative team in the Department of Integrative agriculture and Department of Food, Nutrition and Health Department, UAEU. The research project is in collaboration with University of Talca, Chile. Key laboratory techniques and skills involved are likely to be: fruit quality attributes measurements, antioxidant analysis and activities, enzyme activity, microplate reader, spectroscopy, gas-chromatography and Cell culture techniques. The project would suit a candidate with experience in horticulture and food science, with strong lab skills and preferably experience in a fruit physiology and bioactive properties. The position is available immediately and the starting date is April 2020. The candidate will have to work independently in the field and laboratory conditions, and is expected to have excellent English verbal and strong writing skills to assist in preparing manuscripts for the scientific refereed journals, Demonstrated other skills with computer programs such as Excel, Word, SPSS and other statistical programs.
Minimum Qualification;-
Master’s Degree in Horticulture/ Food Science or related discipline.
Preferred Qualification:-
Candidate should demonstrate previous experience in the relevant research through involvement in similar research projects and published articles.
