Blossom Childrens Nursery Vacancy Full Information

Scope
There are focus areas that your role will require you to direct and engage in which are discussed below. You are the Centre Director – a Brand Ambassador; responsible for Parent’s engagement/ interaction; Site Management and Operations; Financial Controls and Budgeting, Education, Staffing, Training Curriculum Planning and Execution and Enrolment Targets. You will manage a team of 30-50 staff members (depending on the site), and they will look to you for guidance, vision and direction on matters below. This role is measured as deliverables which will be assessed to determine job performance/ growth/ bonuses and allows us to ensure that targets are set and achieved. As such we will review and update this job description, performance KPI’s and targets annually or as needed.

You will report to the HR, Finance, Education team and OD on matters relating to your Centre and the team will all look to you for guidance, vision and direction on matters below. Your primary focus is to be a thought leader who inspires action from your team and confidence and support from the community who will consider Blossom to be the best nursery offering. Your goal is to ensure the spaces available are all filled up and that a healthy waitlist is maintained. You will run this centre fairly and in a way that allows children to flourish.

You will have a normal schedule of 5 working days with a 7:30-8.00 am start time with at least 2 days finishing at 6pm per week and the remainder equating to 40-42 hours of work per week on site excluding breaks. As this is a management and leadership position of responsibility it is expressly understood you will work to achieve milestones and goals with reporting requirements that may require planning/ preparation/training which may be done off site and outside of contracted hours which may include weekends and holidays to ensure completion. You are a high-level Director and ensuring that Blossom is always maintained to the highest standard is your goal.

Job Specifications

Qualification:-

Masters/ Bachelor’s in education or Cache Level 5 or equivalent (ongoing or completed) & Management certifications.

Relevant Work Experience:-

Management role experience (Manager, Centre Director) for a minimum of 2 years & ideally teaching experience.

  • Work with all other Directors, shared Directors and Operation Director on marketing, HR, education, sustainability of the nursery and to liaise with the community to ensure we organize ways to get our name out through presence, functions and product
Duties & Key Responsibilities;-
1. OPERATIONS & PARENTS INTERACTION/ENGAGEMENT & ENROLMENT TARGETS

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with parents, community partners, students and volunteers

– Perform daily rounds & attendance data gathering – staff/children

  • Manage & prepare all staff schedule, class schedules and Skillplay schedule
  • Manage staff schedules/class allocation and ensure proper ratio is well maintained
  • Perform Daily risk assessments checks, spot checks
  • Meet & greet parents and handle their queries, concerns and complaints
  • Carry out tours of the centre (when DM is not available) and be able to be the Blossom voice
  • Mentor and coach direct staff, Conduct Staff meetings
  • Ensure all operation related lists are update
  • Review children’s files to ensure we have the mandatory documents in place – medical, registration, Terms & conditions etc.
  • Update Allocation sheet on weekly basis
  • Provide on-going parent education and information exchange through parent days, newsletters, seminars and other activities
  • Fill in and complete CD reporting as required/scheduled
  • Create alternative schedules, children’s groups for Spring, Summer or Winter camps

2. HR:-

  • Overview and manage all required recruitment/hiring activities
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding staff processes in liaison with HR team
  • Manage staff performance review processes (probation, annual review ..etc.)
  • Manage daily related staff issues, requests and concerns ad take the appropriate actions
  • Manage monthly payroll process
  • Manage staff annual leave planning and centre cover/schedule related actions
  • Manage & prepare staff and office team different schedules.

3. FINANCE/ BUDGETING:=

  • Create exception report for CFO/OD approval in case of refund or exception request
  • Sign of deliveries – groceries, art/craft deliveries etc.
  • Meet accountability requirements of Blossom budgets, milestones and manuals including ensuring staff are paid in a timely and fair manner using the fingerprint access system and reporting structures in place
  • Manage monthly budget targets and spending. Spending inappropriately or outside of established milestones without pre-authorisation will result in this budget milestone not being met. Such budgetary milestones will be agreed on quarterly with the CFO and will include classroom budgets, operations and food budgets plus misc. costs and such will constitute a part of this agreement.

4. EDUCATION:-

  • Perform regular class observation of teachers and all other staff and put in place their training and mentoring plan
  • Review teachers’ weekly planning books and ensure staff are planning and executing the targets set within our EYFS British framework Foundation model
  • Review the curriculum delivery in each classroom
  • Ensure all staff have been trained and receive appropriate guidance in paediatric first aid training, Blossom policies and curriculum to ensure they maintain standards, perform duties in a healthy and safe
  • manner in accordance with the Employee Handbook, Child and Parent Policies and local law; work in a manner that is safe and healthy for self, co-workers and participants (evaluate and implement safety audit)
  • Review and signs off the children’s report cards
  • Reviews class inventory and its resources

5. SITE MANAGEMENT;-

  • Ensure all areas are clean and maintained to the highest standards through use of a cleaning Rota / manual. Ensure Management do a daily check so that centre is always in best state and make notes in classroom files as appropriate to this and keep records of required changes and maintenance
  • Monitor the food program to ensure it is working with properly prepared, fresh and delicious food being fed to our children, monitor program, advise changes and ensure any allergies / restrictions are maintained

– Ensure children’s files are up to date with the required documents – registration, medical, vaccination, passport copy, Emirates ID, visa copy etc.

  • Ensure that nurse’s logs, accident folders, ministry records and municipality files are updated and in order; renew the contracts that are expiring, ensure that staff are first aid and safeguarding trained as well as understand your duty as the Blossom Safeguarding Officer
  • Report any damage/repair work required will be reported immediately and you will work to get areas fixed / safe working order
  • Responsible for all entrance and access to the site as well as managing control of centre keys and fingerprint access
  • Manage office cell phone for emergency preparedness and Parents communication and marketing

6. MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:-

  • Work with your team on planning events to attract new potential clients/parents and events for parents’ engagement. Prepare your overall marketing plan for your centre, monitor progress, evaluate the results and performance
  • Plan, deliver & execute events and open houses at your centre
  • Work alongside Digital and Comms/Marketing director to ensure your termly marketing plans are well balanced, interrelated with the digital plan, and efficient
  • Use appropriate tracking templates for reporting on tours, conversion, etc.
  • Be able to use platforms such as google apps Little Lives apps, social media sites with ease and share the best practice with others in your team
  • Be active & confident using social medias such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Be active and well known in your community that will help you to expand the partnership that your centre could benefit from
  • Build your own database of useful contacts
  • Be innovative, creative and think out of the box
