Producer, Morning Show:-

The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a creative, Producer for our daily talk show, in our office in Dubai, UAE. MBN is a non-profit grantee of the federal government that directly communicates with the people of the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio, and digital media. MBN’s mission is to provide objective, accurate, and relevant news and information to the people of the Middle East about the region, the world, and the United States in support of U.S. public diplomacy.

The Producer is responsible for the creative development, production, content quality of assigned programs; constructing fresh, informative, creative, compelling shows, summaries, updates and assigned special event coverage, ensuring balanced content consist with the mission goals of the company.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Producer include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating with Senior Producer and select timely news and segments, features, live coverage and studio guests.
• Assisting Senior Producer prepare for each 2 hour show in every manner.
• Write stories as directed.
• Actively participating in editorial meetings.
• Understanding and stay updated on the major stories of the day and their relationship to the company mission and viewers and relationship to feature stories.
• Helping review scripts.
• Obtaining legal and editorial clearances from Senior Producer.
• Ensuring that all additional production details are completed including; graphics, chyrons, etc.
• Providing Control Room with critical information regarding the timing, content and execution of live shots while program is on-air.
• Following commands of Senior Supervising Producer in the control room when breaking news is on the air.
• Pursuing news features and assist Assignment Desk and other newscast producers during coverage of breaking news.
• Inputting and conducting final review of show content to ensure a clean broadcast.
• Researching and editing relevant program footage for use in rundowns and social media
• Posting and updating on social media platforms
• Assisting in gathering elements for the daily show per Senior Producer
• Contributing story ideas on a daily, weekly and long-range basis

Candidates are required to have:

• Bachelors degree in journalism or broadcast journalism preferred.
• At least 2 years news room production and control room experience.
• Demonstrated good Arabic writing skills.
• Ability to communicate verbally and written in English and Arabic.
• Solid news editorial and creative judgment.
• Ability to thrive in an environment requiring teamwork
• Ability to maintain composure in the control room and work under intense deadline pressure
• Ability to exercise self-discipline and time-management skills
• Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment including overnight coverage
• Updated working knowledge of social media platforms.
